A106 Grade B Seamless Carbon Steel Pipe is a seamless carbon steel pipe produced according to the ASTM A106 standard set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).

The standard divides seamless carbon steel pipe into three grades: A, B and C, of which grade B is the most widely used grade.

4. Manufacturing process

A106 Grade B carbon steel seamless tubes can be manufactured by cold drawing or hot working process:

Cold-drawn: high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface, suitable for applications requiring high dimensional accuracy and strength.

Hot working: the surface may have oxidized skin or other traces of hot working, suitable for applications requiring low dimensional accuracy but high plasticity of the material.

The dimensional range of A106 Grade B carbon steel seamless pipe is:

Wall thickness: in accordance with ASME B36.10.
