A. EN 253:2019
a. Scope of Application: Underground district heating pipe networks consisting of a working pipe (seamless steel pipe or welded steel pipe), a polyurethane insulation layer, and a polyethylene outer casing, forming an integrated pre-insulated pipe.
b. Key Requirements:
Continuous operating temperature ≤ 120°C, peak temperature ≤ 140°C;
Steel pipe material must comply with ISO 3183 or EN 10208 standards (seamless steel pipes are preferred for pipes with DN ≤ 150);
Insulation layer closed-cell content ≥ 88%, density ≥ 60 kg/m³.
B. ASTM Standard System
a. Insulation Layer: Complies with ASTM C177 (rigid foam plastic thermal insulation performance);
b. Outer protective pipe: Follow ASTM D3350 (high-density polyethylene pipes);
c. Steel pipes: Must meet ASTM A53/A106 (seamless steel pipes) or ASTM A252 (welded pipes).

v. Supplementary Standards for Special Scenarios
a. High-Temperature Pre Insulated Pipeline: If the medium temperature exceeds 150°C, modified polyurethane (temperature resistance up to 190°C) or aerogel composite insulation layers (GB/T 45472-2025) must be used;
b. Earthquake-Prone Areas: Outer casings must have enhanced tensile strength (elongation at break ≥450%), and joints must undergo seismic verification in accordance with GB/T 38585.
